What if coming into the office felt energising, not draining? What if your workspace supported wellbeing as much as productivity?
Great workplace design does exactly that, and as we head into 2026, there’s never been a better time to get your space sorted. It all starts with the right mix of layout, lighting, acoustics, and office furniture that genuinely works for your people.
At Int. Workspaces, we see every day how the physical environment influences culture, focus, and how teams feel the moment they walk through the door. And to get a true sense of what makes a workspace really work, we asked someone who knows better than anyone.
Keith’s insight: “Customers return to the same products because they simply work.”
Keith Davis, our Furniture Consultant, sees first-hand which products truly make a difference in modern workspaces and, as he puts it, “customers return to the same products because they simply work.” Across businesses of all sizes, Keith consistently sees teams gravitating toward solutions that support movement throughout the day, help manage noise and focus, create calm breakout zones, and provide ergonomic support for long work sessions. These are the pieces that change how people feel, not just how they work. And when they’re paired with thoughtful design elements like natural or ambient lighting, generous circulation flow, acoustic balance, and intentional desk placement, the result is a workspace that actively supports wellbeing. Good design reduces fatigue, boosts mental clarity, encourages movement, strengthens social connection, and reflects your company’s values, ultimately creating an environment that makes Mondays feel… well, a little less like Mondays.
The products people love — because they deliver real results
Based on Keith’s experience and insights across hundreds of projects, here are the product types customers consistently rely on:
1. Height Adjustable Electric Desks
Our workstations feature sit-to-stand electric desks, designed to support ergonomic comfort and flexibility across height-adjustable desk pods.
2. Ergonomic Task Chairs
The Cloud Ergo Chair is a standout, providing support, adjustability, and comfort for long periods of focused work, a go-to choice when customers want the best office chair for daily use.
3. Acoustic Panels & Quiet Pods
Acoustic panels create essential pockets of quiet in busy offices, allowing teams to focus, meet privately, or decompress when needed. They also complement acoustic office pods and office privacy booth solutions for deeper focus.
4. Planter-Integrated Furniture & Soft Seating
Bringing greenery and soft textures into the workspace creates a calmer, more inviting atmosphere that supports social connection and reduces stress. This often includes integrating a tambour planter or greenery into storage zones.
5. Flexible Storage Solutions
Tambour units, lockers, office cubby storage, and mobile drawers keep spaces organised and adaptable as teams grow and evolve. An organised office cuts the stress, and also reduces downtime from lost or poorly filed documents. Many teams also choose a tambour unit with planter tops to soften the environment.
6. Café/Lunchroom & Meeting Furniture
The spaces where people gather, intentionally or informally, can profoundly shape workplace culture. Durable, comfortable, and thoughtfully arranged pieces make those interactions effortless and enjoyable.
These products drive consistency across our projects because they genuinely improve the everyday experience of coming to work for our customers.
Wellbeing in action: Family VIP – Hastings
When Family VIP approached INT, their brief was centred on people: a modern, comfortable space for staff and a welcoming environment for visiting clients. The office needed to function for 10 staff immediately, with the flexibility to grow.
To bring this to life, we incorporated many of the wellbeing-focused design elements Keith sees customers gravitating toward:
• soft seating and greenery to create warmth
• planter-integrated furniture to define relaxed breakout zones
• acoustic panels to reduce noise and keep the space calm, supported by acoustic desk partitions where needed
• a dedicated quiet pod for focus work, similar to our office privacy booth and office pods offerings
• ergonomic solutions, from chairs to height adjustable standing desk setups, to support healthy daily movement
“It is critical for us to be involved early so we can assist with layout and product specification… We ensure power and data are in the right places for everything from Height Adjustable Pods to Boardroom Tables.”
— Int. Workspaces Team
A standout feature of the project was the staff kitchen, intentionally designed as a retreat, separate from the open office, encouraging connection and offering a moment of calm within the workday.
Designed from January and completed in June 2024, the result is a workspace that feels uplifting, modern, and deeply considered. Take a look at the full project details and photos here, and reach out to Keith if you’d like to create something similar for your staff.
Resilience, support, and smart design: ZIWI Pet Food – Napier
ZIWI’s project illustrates how good design and the right products support teams through both everyday performance and unexpected challenges.
After completing the original fitout in 2022, the devastating floods from Cyclone Gabrielle left their Awatoto facility severely damaged. ZIWI needed temporary workspace solutions, fast, and our team stepped in immediately.
The product mix used across three temporary sites included several of Keith’s top-performing pieces:
- Peak II Height Adjustable Pods
- Rally Task Chairs
- Monitor Arms
- Mobile Drawer Units
- Tambour Units with Planters
- Meeting, café, and boardroom furniture
- Changing room lockers
Each was chosen for durability, ergonomics, and the ability to create stability and comfort during an uncertain time.
“INT reached out and went above and beyond… Their professionalism and attention to detail have left a lasting positive impact.”
— Hannah Christensen, People Culture & Sustainability Director
When the Awatoto office was rebuilt and reinstated in December 2023, many of these products were reintegrated, a testament to their quality and long-term suitability.
This project shows the power of design and product choices that not only meet day-to-day needs but support teams through adversity and growth.

When your people walk into a space that feels supportive, intentional, and designed for them, they show up differently: with more energy, more creativity, more connection, even on a Monday. Reach out to Keith and the team, and let’s get your workspace sorted as we head into this new year.
