Rangiora Library
Int. Workspaces were approached directly by their client to consult on a new internal fit out for the Rangiora Library, after a previously unsuccessful tender process. The scope of the project included a redesign of the existing library layout, new library shelving, a service counter, soft seating and furniture. Removal and disposal of the existing shelving was also required.
“We met with the library team on several occasions to review collection data, discuss shelving requirements and the overall vision for the space which included a focus for a welcoming, interactive children’s space” – Kate Baxter, Library Specialist for Int. Workspaces
As a result of that, Int. Workspaces provided a floor plan which included over 1,000 linear metres of Intraspec shelving, furniture specifications and placement, as well as a corresponding product schedule for replacement and additional ordering in the future.
Once the client had approved the floor plan and product schedule, we refined the final finishes, based on their brand guidelines.
As with all projects of this scale and nature, there is always a predetermined budget to work within. This guided us in the specification process, enabling us to recommend economical products that met their budget requirements, resulting in Waimakariri District Council being able to achieve everything they wished.
In March 2025, our delivery and installation team were on-site for five days. During this time, they dismantled and disposed of the existing shelving, installed Intraspec steel shelving, a height adjustable service counter, modular seating, desking, tables and soft seating.
The completion of this fit out was successful and within the determined time frame.
